Chiropractic Techniques
Active Faith Chiropractic employs the latest in effective techniques and procedure to make sure you get the best care and treatment.
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE (ART)
ART is a treatment that incorporates manipulation of your body’s soft tissue and movement of a certain area of the body. This can help alleviate problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
FAKTR IASTM
FAKTR is a form of manual therapy known as a soft-tissue mobilizer that is assisted by a metal instrument. This method uses these instruments to help massage the area by gently scraping the muscles.
ROCK TAPE
Rock Tape is used to treat sports and non-sport-related injuries. The tape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, creating a decompressive effect for swelling and inflammation to the injured area.
FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREENING (FMS)
Functional Movement Screening is a pre-participation tool that helps distinguish compensatory movement patterns and inefficient movement throughout the body. FMS testing is good for athletes because it can identify an individual’s risk for an injury which can create a decrease in performance in their sport.
SFMA
SFMA is a set of seven full-body movement tests evaluated and scored in patients experiencing pain. The assessment logically breaks down dysfunctional patterns pinpointing the root cause as a mobility problem or a stability/motor control problem. Depending on the results, manual therapies or corrective exercises will be used as treatment.
THOMPSON
The Thompson Technique utilizes a specially-designed “segmental drop table” that augments the force being imparted to the joint or segment being adjusted.
DIVERSIFIED
This technique is the most commonly used of all chiropractic techniques and is the one probably most familiar to patients. The Diversified manipulation/adjustment entails a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that usually results in a cavitation of a joint (quick, shallow thrusts that cause the popping noise often associated with a chiropractic manipulation/adjustment).
MCKENZIE METHOD
The McKenzie Method also referred to as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy is a method of assessing and treating spinal back pain and related extremity pain most commonly through the use of specific repeated movements and appropriate prevention measures.
ACTIVATOR
The Activator Method uses a small, hand-held instrument called the Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine with the goal of restoring motion to the targeted spinal vertebra or joint.
